RV Insurance

Motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheels. Get coverage built for life on the road, not just a car policy stretched thin.

What it covers

Liability

Required for motorhomes you drive. Covers injuries and damage you cause to others.

Collision and comprehensive

Covers your RV for crashes, theft, hail, fire and more.

Personal belongings

Optional coverage for the things you carry inside the RV.

Full-timer coverage

For people who live in their RV, some policies add home-style liability.

Roadside and towing

Large-vehicle roadside help, offered by some carriers.

Who needs it in Texas

  • A motorhome you drive on Texas roads must carry at least 30/60/25 liability, like any vehicle (TDI).
  • Travel trailers and fifth wheels are usually covered for liability by the vehicle towing them, but damage to the trailer itself needs its own coverage.
  • Lenders usually require collision and comprehensive on a financed RV.
  • If you live in your RV full time, tell your agent. A standard policy may not be enough.

Common questions

Do I need RV insurance in Texas?

If you drive a motorhome, yes. It needs at least the state minimum liability. Towable RVs depend on your tow vehicle policy and your lender.

Does my auto policy cover my travel trailer?

Your auto policy may extend liability while towing, but it usually does not pay for damage to the trailer. A separate RV or trailer policy covers that.

What if I live in my RV?

Ask about full-timer coverage, which can add liability and protection more like a homeowners policy.

Are my belongings inside covered?

Only if your policy includes personal effects coverage. We can add it to your quote.
