Notary Services

Need a document notarized in Tomball or northwest Houston? Call to book a time at our office.

What we help with

Acknowledgments

We confirm your identity and that you signed the document.

Oaths and affirmations (jurats)

You swear or affirm that a document is true, then sign in front of the notary.

Copy certification

For documents that are not public records. Copies of recordable public records, like birth certificates, must come from the issuing office (Texas SOS).

What to know in Texas

  • Bring a current, valid government-issued photo ID or U.S. passport. If you do not have one, a credible witness who knows you may be able to identify you (Texas SOS).
  • Every signer must appear in person. A notary cannot notarize without you present (Texas SOS).
  • Bring the complete, unsigned document. Do not sign it until you are in front of the notary.
  • A Texas notary is not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice, choose, or draft legal documents. A notary is not a “notario público” (Texas Gov’t Code §406.016 and §406.017).

Common questions

What do I need to bring?

A valid government-issued photo ID or U.S. passport, the complete document and any other signers (Texas SOS).

Can you help me fill out my document or tell me which form to use?

No. Texas notaries who are not lawyers cannot give legal advice or select or draft legal documents (Texas SOS).

Is a notary the same as a notario público?

No. In Texas a notary is not an attorney. Using the term “notario público” to advertise notary services is illegal in Texas (Gov’t Code §406.017).

How much does it cost?

Texas law sets the maximum fees a notary can charge. Call us and we will tell you before we start.

Can you certify a copy of my birth certificate?

No. Notaries cannot certify copies of recordable public records. Request a certified copy from the issuing office (Texas SOS).
